Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Director to manage and direct all aspects of warehousing and related activities, including P&L budgeting, KPI management, and employee management. The successful candidate will strategize, advise, and direct warehouse systems and technologies while directing the day-to-day activities of the Centralized Logistics department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Policies: Maintain a sound plan of policies to ensure adequate management development and provide for capable management succession.
  • Establish Procedures and Controls: Develop and install procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
  • Manage Operational Schedules: Manage operational schedules and coordinate shipping activities to ensure production and quality of accuracy meets specifications.
  • Review and Resolve Operational Issues: Review shipment and operating reports; resolve operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Direct Managers: Direct Managers on major rollouts to assure timely execution.
  • Manage the Centralized Logistics Department: Manage the Centralized Logistics Department to include but not limited to freight quoting, problem solving, freight auditing (internal and external), claims processing, drop ship processing, shipped not invoiced monitoring, and international shipping coordination.
  • Implement Tracking System: Direct a proactive tracking system.
  • Oversee Freight Routings: Oversee freight routings for all shipping locations.
  • Pull, Process, and Review Reports: Pull, process, and/or review daily reports as necessary.
  • Implement Policies and Procedures: Implement policies, procedures, and strategic plans that align with department and corporate goals.
  • Develop and Maintain SOP's: Develop and maintain SOP's for the Warehouse and Logistics department.
  • Oversee Full Truck Scheduling: Oversee full truck scheduling to reduce cost and improve service.
  • Improve Shipping Data Collection: Improve the collection, reporting, and distribution of shipping data.
  • Coordinate Employee Relations: Coordinates, with Human Resources, all aspects of employee relations including employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training, and development, etc.
  • Reliable Attendance: Reliable attendance is a must.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree including 8+ years of experience in a warehousing/ distribution environment.
  • Transportation Management Experience: Experience in transportation management, pick-up and delivery, dray, etc.
  • KPI Management Experience: Experience implementing and managing key performance indicators throughout operations and holding management and employees accountable for performance metrics.
  • Financial Experience: Solid financial, analytical and P&L experience.
  • Lean Techniques Experience: Familiarity with Lean techniques and continuous improvement models.
  • Warehouse Management Experience: Experience with warehouse management and transportation management systems (WMS/TMS/YMS).
  • Food Service Equipment Experience: Food service equipment experience a plus.
