About The Role
The Regional Trainer is a full-time hybrid position, involving 2 days of hands-on barbering and 3 days dedicated to training and mentoring barbers across the assigned region. This role is pivotal in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our barbers in Western Washington, setting a standard of excellence through exemplary barbering and customer service practices. The Trainer will engage in all facets of barbering, from advanced haircutting techniques to client consultations, and will oversee the entire barbering journey at Weldon Barber, from technical evaluations to ongoing educational initiatives.


The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep passion for superior men's grooming and luxury customer service, alongside a commitment to maintaining top-tier skills and techniques.

This individual will possess outstanding communication abilities, characterized by diplomacy, tact, and exceptional listening skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, all while fostering a collaborative environment to achieve the goals of Weldon Barber.


Position Responsibilities
• Provide hands-on training in all aspects of barbering, including haircutting, shaving, and client consultations.

  • Assess barber candidates through technical evaluations and develop training plans to ensure proficiency in delivering Weldon services.
  • Continuously evaluate barber skills and identify training needs throughout their tenure.
  • Foster a positive and professional learning atmosphere that ignites a passion for the barbering craft.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in barbering through ongoing education.
  • Maintain strong relationships with educational institutions and industry professionals.
  • Assist leadership and participate in scheduled visits and classes at local cosmetology and barber schools as needed.
  • Coordinate quarterly development and education opportunities, engaging industry peers and guest educators.
  • Model and coach excellence in delivering an elevated customer experience.
  • Become a subject-matter expert in booking and point-of-sale software, ensuring best practices are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards within the areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in annual events and gatherings.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices across all job functions.
Position Requirements
  • Valid Barber, Cosmetology, or Hair Design license in Washington state.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed Barber or Cosmetologist.
  • Experience in training, education, or instructional roles.
  • Experience in personnel management, including hiring and training.
  • Ability to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to student success.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed Barber or Cosmetologist.
  • 2+ years of experience in a training or educational role within the barber or salon industry.
  • Experience in multi-unit training or management.
Travel Requirements
This position necessitates frequent travel within the designated region, requiring a personal vehicle for transportation.

Compensation
The Regional Trainer position offers a competitive compensation structure, including hourly wages for training hours and commission based on performance. Annual compensation ranges from $46,176 to $99,008, with additional earnings from tips.
