About The Role

The Regional Trainer at Weldon Barber is a full-time hybrid position, with a blend of hands-on barbering and educational responsibilities. This role involves two days of barbering and three days dedicated to training and mentoring Barbers within the assigned region. The Regional Trainer plays a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our Barbers across Western Washington, setting a standard of excellence through exemplary barbering and customer service.

The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering superior men's grooming and luxury customer service, while also maintaining best-in-class skills and techniques.

This individual will possess exceptional communication abilities, demonstrating diplomacy, tact, and outstanding listening skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Position Responsibilities
  • Deliver hands-on training in all aspects of barbering, including haircutting techniques, shaving, styling, and client consultations.
  • Assess Barber candidates through technical interviews and develop training plans to ensure proficiency in delivering Weldon services.
  • Continuously evaluate Barber skills and techniques, identifying areas for improvement and addressing training needs as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and professional learning environment that inspires a passion for the barbering craft.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in barbering through ongoing education.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with external schools, agencies, and educators.
  • Assist leadership and participate in scheduled visits and classes at local cosmetology and barber schools as needed.
  • Coordinate quarterly continuing education opportunities, collaborating with industry peers and guest educators.
  • Model and coach to ensure an elevated customer experience.
  • Become a subject-matter expert in booking software and point-of-sale systems, ensuring best practices are taught and utilized.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, maintaining safe work environments.
  • Participate in annual events and training retreats.
Position Requirements
  • Valid Barber, Cosmetology, or Hair Design license in Washington state.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed Barber or Cosmetologist.
  • Experience in a Trainer, Educator, or Instructor role.
  • Proven experience in managing personnel, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Ability to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to student success.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Customer service experience and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed Barber or Cosmetologist.
  • 2+ years of experience in a training or educator role within the barber or salon industry.
  • Experience in multi-unit training or management.
Travel Requirements

This position involves frequent travel within the designated region, requiring a personal vehicle and the ability to travel quickly to various locations.
