About The Role

The Regional Trainer is a full-time hybrid position, dedicating two days to hands-on barbering and three days to training and mentoring barbers within the designated region. This role is crucial in enhancing the skills and knowledge of our barbers across Western Washington, ensuring their success through exemplary barbering and customer service.

The Trainer will engage in various aspects of barbering, from precision cuts to shaving techniques, and will oversee the entire journey of a barber's career at Weldon, including conducting technical interviews and facilitating ongoing education.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for providing top-tier men's grooming services and luxury customer experiences while maintaining best-in-class skills and techniques.

This individual will possess exceptional communication abilities, demonstrating diplomacy, tact, and outstanding listening skills, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Position Responsibilities
  • Deliver hands-on training in all facets of barbering, including haircutting, shaving, styling, and client consultations.
  • Assess barber candidates through technical interviews and develop training plans to ensure proficiency in delivering Weldon services.
  • Continuously evaluate barber skills and identify areas for improvement, providing necessary training and support.
  • Foster a positive and professional learning atmosphere that ignites a passion for the barbering craft.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in barbering through ongoing education.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external schools, agencies, and educators.
  • Assist leadership and participate in scheduled visits and classes at local cosmetology and barber schools as needed.
  • Coordinate quarterly development and education opportunities, collaborating with industry peers and guest educators.
  • Model and coach to achieve excellence in customer experience.
  • Become a subject-matter expert in booking software and point-of-sale systems, ensuring best practices are implemented.
  • Ensure safe and compliant work environments in accordance with all regulations and industry standards.
  • Participate in annual events and gatherings to foster team cohesion.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices across all job functions.
Position Requirements
  • Valid Barber, Cosmetology, or Hair Design license in Washington State.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a licensed Barber or Cosmetologist.
  • Experience in a training, educator, or instructor role.
  • Experience in personnel management, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Ability to create a supportive and positive learning environment.
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to the barbering profession.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
  • Customer service experience and ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience as a licensed Barber or Cosmetologist.
  • Two or more years of experience in a training or educator role within the barber or salon industry.
  • Experience in multi-unit training or management in the barber or salon industry.
Travel Requirements

This position necessitates frequent travel within the designated region, requiring a personal vehicle for transportation.

Compensation

The Regional Trainer position offers a competitive compensation structure, including hourly wages for training hours and commission based on performance.
