Job Title:Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

As a Business Development Manager at R E Garrison Trucking Inc, you will be responsible for selling logistics transportation services to current and potential customers. Your primary goal will be to actively seek out and engage customer prospects, building and maintaining relationships and negotiating agreements. Some travel may be required, and a thorough understanding of the transportation industry is essential.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and solicit new client opportunities to drive business growth.
  2. Develop and consult with the current customer base to ensure their needs are met and exceeded.
  3. Responsible for the growth of customer relations, managing customer service day-to-day operations, and ensuring the effective management of logistic information systems.
  4. Develop leads and cold call potential customers to expand the customer base.
  5. Listen to customer queries patiently and find resolution to issues in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Manage and negotiate rates to ensure competitive pricing and customer satisfaction.
  7. Able to multitask and resolve issues in high-pressure situations, prioritizing workflow to use time effectively.
  8. Resolve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism, ensuring minimal disruption to customers.

Requirements:

A college degree in a related field is preferred, along with previous experience in customer service and sales. Knowledge of the trucking industry is a required skill. The ideal candidate will possess excellent listening skills, be energetic and personable, and have the ability to use critical thinking skills, interact and communicate effectively, and recognize when action is necessary.


Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are required. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time is also necessary.
