Job Overview

Position Summary:

A Universal Banker engages in a diverse range of responsibilities to deliver prompt and precise services to both current and prospective clients. This role may encompass duties typically associated with Customer Service Representatives, Tellers, and Loan Associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services to effectively assist customers.
  2. Execute essential teller functions, manage vault operations, handle collections, open new accounts, and support loan-related tasks.
  3. Uphold a high standard of confidentiality for both company and customer information.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including BSA/AML guidelines.
  5. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  6. Rotate through various job functions at least bi-monthly for a week.
  7. Manage a teller drawer for transactions.
  8. Keep accurate vault records.
  9. Process currency orders and manage shipments.
  10. Complete required documentation for loan officers.
  11. Assist customers with safe deposit box access.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a teller in a financial institution, supplemented by training in a business-related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Business degree from a technical school or college is preferred.
  2. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  3. Proficient in operating computers, typing, using ten-key number pads, printers, fax machines, and copiers.
  4. May require registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills to relate to and empathize with clients while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
  6. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
  7. Professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  8. Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  9. Availability for last-minute schedule adjustments.

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle equipment and files, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
