Lake Charles Universal Banker/Floater Position

Position Summary:
The Universal Banker plays a crucial role in delivering a wide range of banking services to both current and prospective clients. This position encompasses responsibilities typically associated with Customer Service Representatives, Tellers, and Loan Associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services to effectively assist customers.
- Execute fundamental teller functions, manage vault operations, handle collections, open new accounts, and support loan-related tasks.
- Uphold a high standard of confidentiality for both company and customer information.
- Comply with and support all regulatory and compliance standards, including BSA/AML regulations pertinent to this role.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Rotate through various job responsibilities at least once every two months for a week.
- Manage transactions and maintain a balanced teller drawer.
- Keep accurate vault records.
- Process currency orders and oversee shipments.
- Complete necessary documentation as requested by loan officers.
- Assist customers with safe deposit box access.
Note: The Universal Banker I role involves less than 60% of time spent on the teller line, while the Universal Banker II role requires more than 40% of time on the platform.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of one year of experience as a teller in a financial institution, complemented by additional training in a business-related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Business degree from a technical school or college is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficient in operating computers, typing, using a ten-key number pad, and handling office equipment such as printers, fax machines, and copiers.
- Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) may be required in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act.
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with customers and maintain a positive, friendly demeanor.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
- Professional appearance and conduct at all times.
- Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
- Availability for last-minute schedule adjustments via phone or email.
