Overview:

The Universal Banker is responsible for delivering a wide range of banking services to both current and prospective clients with precision and efficiency. This role encompasses various functions, including Customer Service Representative, Teller, and Loan Associate responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Possess and maintain comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services to effectively assist customers.
  2. Execute fundamental teller tasks, manage vault operations, handle collections, open new accounts, and support loan-related activities.
  3. Uphold a high standard of confidentiality for both company and customer information.
  4. Comply with and promote adherence to all relevant regulations and compliance standards, including BSA/AML.
  5. Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
  6. Rotate through various job functions at least bi-monthly for a week.
  7. Manage transactions and maintain a balanced teller drawer.
  8. Keep accurate vault records.
  9. Process currency orders and shipments.
  10. Complete necessary documentation as requested by loan officers.
  11. Assist customers with safe deposit box access.
Note: The Universal Banker I role involves less than 60% of time spent on the teller line, while Universal Banker II involves more than 40% on the platform.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of one year of teller experience in a financial institution, with additional training in a business-related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Business degree from a technical school or college is preferred.
  2. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  3. Proficient in operating computers, typing, using a ten-key number pad, and handling office equipment such as printers, fax machines, and copiers.
  4. May require successful registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act.
  5. Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate to customers with empathy and maintain a friendly demeanor.
  6. Exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
  7. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  8. Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
  9. Availability for last-minute schedule adjustments is essential.
