Job Overview

Position Summary:

A Universal Banker is responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at delivering exceptional service to both current and prospective clients. This role encompasses responsibilities typically associated with Customer Service Representatives, Tellers, and Loan Associates, necessitating proficiency in multiple areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services to effectively assist customers.
  2. Execute essential teller functions, manage vault operations, handle collections, and support new account and loan-related tasks.
  3. Uphold strict confidentiality standards for both company and customer information.
  4. Comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements, including BSA/AML guidelines relevant to this position.
  5. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  6. Rotate through various job functions at least every two months for a week.
  7. Handle cash transactions and maintain an accurate teller drawer.
  8. Keep detailed records for vault activities.
  9. Process currency orders and manage shipments.
  10. Assist loan officers by completing necessary documentation.
  11. Facilitate customer access to safe deposit boxes.

Note: The Universal Banker I dedicates approximately 75% of their time to teller duties and 25% to platform and new account responsibilities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of one year of teller experience in a financial institution, complemented by training in a business-related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Business degree from a technical institution or college is preferred.
  2. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  3. Proficient in operating computers, typing, ten-key entry, and using office equipment such as printers and copiers.
  4. Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) may be required in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively connect with clients and maintain a positive demeanor.
  6. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
  7. Professional appearance and conduct are expected at all times.

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle equipment and documents, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. Specific vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
