Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Foreign, Comparative, and International Law Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading organization in the Commonwealth of Virginia, providing expert research and reference services to support the development of global law and policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of foreign, comparative, and international law, including relevant treaties, conventions, and agreements.
  • Provide expert research and reference services to support the development of global law and policy, including conducting in-depth research, analyzing complex information, and creating high-quality reports and briefs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective research strategies and methodologies, and to identify and address emerging trends and issues in global law and policy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, international organizations, and other experts in the field of global law and policy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in global law and policy, including changes in laws, regulations, and policies, and emerging trends and issues.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in law or a related field, such as international relations, politics, or economics.
  • Substantial experience in research and analysis, including experience working with complex information and developing high-quality reports and briefs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex information and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a government or international organization, or in a related field such as law, politics, or economics.
  • Fluency in one or more foreign languages, including English.
  • Experience working with complex information systems and databases, including experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Strong knowledge of global law and policy, including experience working with international treaties, conventions, and agreements.
