Position: International Law Research Librarian

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance its research and reference team as an International Law Research Librarian. This position plays a vital role in delivering research assistance, instructional support, and reference services to faculty, students, and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development of International Law Collections
  • Oversee the operations of the International Law library assistant
  • Serve as a liaison for advanced degree students and student-led publications
  • Engage in reference service activities
  • Participate in library committees and collaborative projects
  • Potentially instruct on International Law research methodologies
  • Support library initiatives and operational projects
Required Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law institution or equivalent foreign degree
  • ALA-accredited MLS degree or equivalent foreign qualification
  • Proficient legal research capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in International Law
  • Background in collection development
  • Experience in supervisory roles
  • Fluency in one or more foreign languages
