GURSTEL LAW FIRM, P.C. – Associate Attorney in Commercial Litigation

POSITION SUMMARY As a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney, your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Delivering comprehensive and practical evaluations and counsel while representing clients both in and out of court during the legal collection process.
  • Maintaining a focus on producing high-quality work and performance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while upholding integrity and achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Drafting and executing pleadings for all stages of litigation.
  • Making court appearances throughout the litigation process, including leading any trials that may occur.
  • Communicating effectively in both written and verbal formats with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Implementing strategies to enforce judgments obtained on behalf of clients, which may involve garnishments, depositions, and repossession tactics.
  • Providing mentorship and training to administrative staff.
  • Conducting necessary legal research to support successful legal arguments and recommendations for clients.
  • Preparing and reviewing legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other essential legal documents.
  • Documenting account and file activities in accordance with the Firm's policies and procedures.
  • Traveling to various courts as required and managing all aspects of a case's litigation lifecycle.
  • Participating in continuing education opportunities to stay informed about local, state, and federal legal changes.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 1-7 years of experience in commercial litigation, particularly in creditors' rights and collections.
  • Must be a member of the State Bar and qualified to practice law in Minnesota.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local legal statutes.
  • Ability to analyze case law and provide informed recommendations.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to leverage resources and expertise in developing high-quality solutions.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and motivate colleagues towards achieving results.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across a diverse audience, including attorneys and non-attorneys at all organizational levels.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS – This role necessitates travel to courts as needed.
