Privacy Compliance Specialist

CentraCare is seeking a highly skilled Privacy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient health information.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement policies and procedures to protect patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and monitoring activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with management, administration, and other departments to ensure effective implementation of privacy policies and procedures.
- Provide training and education to employees, volunteers, and other stakeholders on privacy policies and procedures.
- Investigate and respond to complaints regarding patient health information.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years' experience in privacy, compliance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.
- Strong planning, project management, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
