We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy and Information Security Attorney to join our Corporate Law Department's Privacy and Information Security Unit (PISU). As a key member of our team, you will provide legal advice on enterprise programs, including privacy, information security, risk, and compliance. Your expertise will help us navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of laws, technologies, and business objectives.
Responsibilities- Advise on federal and state privacy and information security requirements, enterprise risk management, and the compliance and ethics program.
- Collaborate with peers in other legal practice groups and business leaders throughout the enterprise to ensure effective implementation of privacy and information security initiatives.
- Provide legal guidance on information retention, crisis management, AML/OFAC, business continuity, and general technology-related legal matters.
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and excellent academic credentials.
- Active license to practice law in at least one state and membership in good standing of the bar.
- Ability to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed in IL.
- 5+ years of experience with privacy and/or information security laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with risk and/or compliance programs.
- Familiarity with State Farm's company structure and general departments.
- Demonstrated adaptability, learning agility, and ability to excel in a collaborative environment.
