The North American Thermal portfolio is a vital segment of the Shelter Solutions division, encompassing product lines such as StyrofoamTM extruded polystyrene (XPS), BetafuseTM structural adhesive, ThermaxTM and Tuff-R Polyisocyanurate (ISO) insulation, and ArmorWallTM Structural Insulated Sheathing.

The North American Thermal Product Manager will oversee the profitability and complete lifecycle of a multi-million dollar product portfolio, managing operations across seven facilities in the United States and Canada, along with several contract manufacturers. This role is crucial for maintaining the health of the Thermal Portfolio to foster long-term growth and profitability. The individual will directly manage the StyrofoamTM and BetafuseTM product lines while supervising a Product Manager focused on ArmorWallTM and ISO.

This position reports directly to the Global Product Director of Shelter Solutions. Success in this role hinges on close collaboration with functional leaders across the organization to ensure alignment in commercial, technical, and operational functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with pricing, marketing, and supply chain teams to drive growth and mitigate market share loss, focusing on lead time management, pricing strategies, and product modifications.
  • Own and manage product roadmaps, working with cross-functional partners to define and advance products for long-term success.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and drive improvements, identifying key profitability drivers and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Establish key raw material strategies in partnership with R&D, quality, and supply chain teams to manage risks associated with the product portfolio.
  • Lead the success of the new product development process, ensuring alignment of internal functions at each stage of the development cycle.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape, driving a disciplined approach to analyzing competitors and market changes.
  • Coordinate large-scale projects or complex supply situations when cross-functional collaboration is essential.

The Product Manager will utilize the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Process to maintain focus on the portfolio, developing the PMR to emphasize portfolio management and actively participating in demand, supply, and integrated reconciliation processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant business experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong business acumen with a proven track record of making agile and sound decisions.
  • Experience in cross-functional business roles.

  • Diverse perspectives with experience across various businesses/functions is advantageous.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty to foster business alignment.
