Position Overview

This role offers an excellent opportunity to engage with various accounting functions within Basler Electric Company. You will participate in daily, monthly, and annual finance department processes, including financial closings, budgeting, inventory management, and may also involve responsibilities in payroll, accounts receivable, cash application, accounts payable, fixed assets, and cost accounting based on your assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly collaborate with the Manager of Technical Accounting and Payroll.
  • Administer and process weekly payroll for multiple locations, contributing as a vital team member in transitioning payroll processing to third-party software.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries for the general ledger related to your specific responsibilities.
  • Oversee 401K Payroll Administration.
  • Prepare and reconcile annual W-2 forms and other year-end payroll documentation.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual withholding and unemployment taxes and schedules.
  • Conduct accurate and timely monthly and annual financial closing processes, which may include preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements for distribution to management.
  • Perform monthly analyses and reconciliations as part of the year-end financial closing process.
  • Prepare and maintain audit schedules for the year-end audit.
  • Contribute to the budgeting process by preparing relevant schedules and analyses.
  • Track and manage fixed assets and project accounting.
  • Engage in various finance and accounting activities, including Accounts Receivable/Payable, Treasury, Corporate Taxes, Product Costing, and Inventory Analysis.
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related business field.
  • Preferred minimum of one to three years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles to various corporate accounting activities, from routine transactions to complex analyses.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Oracle software is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
