Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Server Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux and Windows infrastructure technology, with a proven track record of maintaining 24x7x365 uptime services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively maintain and develop all Linux and Windows infrastructure technology to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Design and implement systems administration-related solutions for various projects and operational needs.
  • Maintain best practices for managing systems and services across all environments.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system performance issues, including logging and reporting.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity planning to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement scripts or applications to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
  • Manage daily activities, including configuration, maintenance, patching, updating, and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux Servers.
  • Optimize physical and virtual systems and resource utilization, while providing system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Assist with development, including quality assurance processes for monitoring and managing the computing environment throughout its lifecycle.
  • Utilize in-house developed or commercial monitoring and management tools.
  • Plan and execute the installation and configuration of Windows/Linux.
  • Configure, optimize, monitor, operate, and maintain systems throughout their lifecycle.
  • Install, configure, and manage Linux and MS products, such as Redhat, Windows Server, System Center, MS SQL, IIS, WSUS, and others.
  • Work with developers and operational staff to provide solutions that fit within the constraints of the web application environment.
  • Order supplies to replenish server room stock or for upcoming projects.

Requirements

  • Previous working experience as a Linux and Windows Server Administrator for 5+ years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar relevant degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux, including RedHat, CentOS, Debian, and others.
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB.
  • Expertise in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting.
  • Solid knowledge of protocols, such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMP.
  • Additional Linux certifications, such as RHCT, RHCE, and LPIC, are considered an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Windows system and clustered compute management, including patching, scripting, performance analysis, and system recovery and disaster planning.
  • Windows administration experience, including MS application products, such as Exchange, MS SQL, IIS, and others.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with provisioning of services, monitoring, upgrading hardware and software, configuration management, and understanding and maintaining services, such as AD, DFS, FTP, DNS, DHCP, and bare metal builds from scratch with/without domain service.
  • Management Automation Experiences with Shell scripting in Linux and Windows environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with implementing and troubleshooting Active Directory Enterprise Architecture and Group Policy.
  • Asset Management experience with tools and processes.
