The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting healthcare technology assessments and performing cost analyses of equipment life cycles.
  • Providing acquisition support and managing project implementations.
  • Overseeing maintenance service contract procurement and ensuring compliance monitoring.
  • Compiling and presenting analytical performance data to various stakeholders.
  • Supervising technical personnel, including Healthcare Technology Engineers and Biomedical Equipment Support Specialists.

Financial Management:
The HTM is tasked with managing the financial resources allocated for quality assurance and maintenance activities, ensuring that the medical equipment inventory is readily available for patient care.

Major Duties:
Key duties include:

  • Assisting in capital asset and infrastructure planning for medical equipment.
  • Managing a recall and safety alert program for medical devices, ensuring compliance with patient safety standards.
  • Advising clinical and administrative teams on medical engineering technology, including the evaluation of existing and emerging technologies.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in biomedical engineering, supporting specialized clinical technology.
  • Establishing controls and procedures for the efficient and safe use of electronic devices related to patient care.

Professional Development:
The incumbent will ensure the provision of a continuing education program for professional staff, focusing on the principles and applications of medical instrumentation in healthcare delivery.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent certification, along with relevant experience in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.

Work Schedule:
This position follows a standard Monday to Friday schedule, with no telework options available.

This role is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and may offer relocation incentives for highly qualified candidates.
