The Aquatic Facility Maintenance Lead plays a crucial role in supporting the Waterpark Maintenance Manager with the daily operations of the waterpark, ensuring that all associated equipment is well-maintained. This position also entails providing basic supervisory oversight to the Water Technician team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Upholds the dress code and appearance standards as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Oversees water technician staff.
  • Executes and supervises maintenance tasks as assigned by the maintenance manager.
  • Conducts water testing in accordance with established protocols.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of pool chemistry.
  • Administers water treatment and applies necessary chemicals (with appropriate certification).
  • Utilizes basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and light electrical skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of standard safety practices in a workshop environment.
  • Safely operates all hand and power tools.
  • Employs troubleshooting techniques effectively.
  • Handles HVAC computer operations.
  • Manages Air Handler operations.
  • Maintains knowledge of all park equipment operations and their locations.
  • Works in aquatic and underwater environments.
  • Delivers quality workmanship and takes pride in the facility.
  • Assists guests courteously.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, which may relate directly or indirectly to the primary role.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES

This role directly supervises approximately 2 employees within the Waterpark Maintenance department. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recognizing and addressing employee concerns; and resolving issues in accordance with organizational policies and legal standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this position, candidates must effectively perform each essential duty. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

An Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Proficient in effectively communicating before groups of customers or employees.

MATH SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of interpreting a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and managing several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Candidates should be knowledgeable in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, and be able to utilize the internet for research and ordering parts through online vendor systems.

CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates must hold a CPO Certified Pool Operator certification and possess a trade school certificate in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or Mechanical fields.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong organizational skills are essential. Candidates must be adept at troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues with various types of equipment.
