About the Position
  • This role involves overseeing day-to-day HR functions for the department, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, benefits, compensation, employee relations, payroll/timekeeping, and terminations.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert and internal resource for HR policy and procedures, working closely with Division Chairs and Department Administrators to initiate and complete recruitment processes.
  • This position requires strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and communicate HR policies with respect to leaves, recruiting, compensation, etc., to department staff and faculty.
  • Oversee departmental compliance with HR policy and procedure and other department-level HR initiatives.
  • Attend required training sessions/meetings, including HR partners, and update Department Chair, Administrator, and Financial Manager on all HR-related activities and policy/procedural changes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in human resources management, preferably in a higher education environment or medical academic environment.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification desired.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health benefits, paid annual and holiday leave, generous tuition benefit, retirement planning, and savings options.
