Position Title: Senior Systems Engineering Specialist – Automated Digital Network System (ADNS)
Salary Range: $115,000 to $144,000
Position Summary:
The selected candidate will serve as a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist for PEO C4I, PMW 160, focusing on the Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) initiative. This role entails delivering comprehensive technical and programmatic assessments to support ADNS requirements while leveraging extensive expertise in systems engineering and information technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of requirements for both the existing ADNS system and the forthcoming Software Defined Network (SDN).
- Oversee Configuration Management processes for system-wide documentation, ensuring a thorough understanding of hardware and software engineering modifications.
- Assess the effects of hardware and software designs on application performance, providing recommendations for enhancements or resolutions.
- Suggest improvements aimed at boosting efficiency, effectiveness, supportability, and sustainability.
- Conduct analyses covering comprehensive ADNS documentation reviews for change impacts and update identification, along with evaluations of all Enterprise Change Requests (ECR) and System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) documentation for precision and completeness.
- Manage technical baselines and facilitate event-based technical reviews with ADNS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other solution owners.
Essential Qualifications:
- Possession of a security clearance or eligibility for one following a successful background investigation.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, etc.).
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years with a related Master's degree.
- Proven experience in developing system, hardware, and performance requirements.
- Basic knowledge of communications and network infrastructure systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.
- Experience in engaging with and presenting to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in integrating complex technological systems.
- Familiarity with the System Development Life Cycle.
- Demonstrated leadership and programmatic execution capabilities.
- Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
- A methodical approach to problem-solving.
- At least 3 years of experience in tactical afloat network engineering (ADNS/CANES experience is advantageous).
- Understanding of Navy Communications and Network Infrastructure systems, both ship and shore-based.
Work Environment: This position offers a combination of on-site and remote work, with an expectation of at least two days per week on-site.
