Job Title: Patient Service Representative

Overview:

The Patient Service Representative is a vital role within our healthcare team, focusing on front office operations in a medical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and promote the mission, vision, and values of Tenet Health Central Coast.
  • Comply with the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and maintain confidentiality standards.
  • Provide a warm welcome to patients as they arrive at the practice.
  • Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, confirm visits, and handle rescheduling as needed.
  • Facilitate patient check-in, ensuring accurate demographic data collection and insurance verification.
  • Assist with patient check-out processes, including referral management and scheduling.
  • Collect co-payments and accurately post charges to patient accounts.
  • Process charge entries and manage patient balance inquiries.
  • Disseminate information regarding office policies and procedures to patients.
  • Guide patients through the enrollment process for the patient portal.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of customer service experience, ideally in a healthcare or medical office environment.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with daytime shifts.
