  • Duration: 24 weeks; includes both classroom instruction and practical training
  • Two annual cohorts: January and June
  • Opportunity for advancement into leadership roles upon successful program completion

Program Overview:

The Leadership Development Program (LDP) at A. Duie Pyle is an intensive training initiative designed to equip future leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge. Over a six-month period, participants will gain insights into operations, project management, brokerage, finance, and various facets of our business, all while developing a comprehensive understanding of the transportation sector.

Your journey will commence at the nearest Pyle terminal, where you will familiarize yourself with freight handling and our less-than-truckload (LTL) operations. Throughout the program, you will acquire invaluable hands-on experience by working different shifts on our dock and accompanying our drivers. This exposure will provide you with a thorough understanding of our operations during both day and night shifts. Additionally, you will engage with senior leadership at our corporate office, enhancing your learning experience.

As you approach the conclusion of the program, you will receive your placement within the Pyle network, allowing you to apply your newly acquired skills effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and learn from Pyle leaders to cultivate leadership capabilities through practical experiences, project tasks, and structured training
  • Grasp the essence of teamwork by understanding the impact of various roles on overall operations
  • Engage in classroom learning to build industry knowledge and foster professional relationships with senior leadership
  • Experience multiple roles and shifts to gain comprehensive hands-on exposure

Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or a related field; a combination of part-time roles, internships, or co-op experiences will be considered
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in any discipline; High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to relocate within the Pyle network after program completion
  • Possess a positive and proactive attitude
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
