Program Overview:
The Leadership Development Program (LDP) at A. Duie Pyle is an intensive training initiative designed to equip future leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge. Over a six-month period, participants will gain insights into various operational areas, including project management, brokerage, finance, and more, while developing a robust understanding of the transportation sector.
Your journey will commence at the nearest Pyle terminal, where you will familiarize yourself with freight operations and our less-than-truckload (LTL) services. Throughout the program, you will acquire hands-on experience by working different shifts on our docks and accompanying our drivers. This will provide you with a comprehensive view of our operations, both day and night. Additionally, you will engage with senior leadership at our corporate office, enhancing your learning experience.
As you approach the conclusion of the program, you will receive your placement within the Pyle network, allowing you to apply your newly acquired skills effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shadowing experienced Pyle leaders to cultivate leadership abilities through practical experiences, project work, and formal training
- Learning the importance of teamwork and understanding how various roles contribute to overall operations
- Participating in educational sessions to enhance industry knowledge and build professional relationships with senior leadership
- Gaining practical experience by performing various roles and working across different shifts
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or a related field; a combination of part-time work, internships, or co-op experiences will be considered
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in any discipline; High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to relocate within the Pyle network upon program completion
- Exhibit a positive and proactive attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
