Paid Internship as a Behavioral Technician

Are you passionate about behavioral therapy and eager to contribute to a company that prioritizes the well-being of those it serves? As a Behavioral Technician Intern, your role will focus on the consistent application of behavior management strategies for the individuals in our care.

  • Build and maintain a therapeutic rapport with the individuals served, fostering trust and communication.
  • Implement treatment plan objectives and interventions with sound judgment, seeking guidance when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with families and treatment teams to effectively apply behavior management techniques while ensuring a supportive environment.
  • Provide education to parents and guardians regarding reinforcement strategies and intervention techniques as needed.
  • Encourage safe and socially appropriate replacement behaviors to enhance communication, social skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Objectively assess the progress of individuals using behavior analytic methods, identifying barriers and proposing solutions to supervisors and behavior analysts.
  • Collect and document behavior data accurately, including A-B-C, frequency, duration, and other relevant metrics.
  • Ensure timely and precise completion of all documentation related to staff and individuals served.
  • Complete incident reports in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Review daily updates regarding individuals served, including program changes and scheduled sessions, and implement necessary training for staff.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff to ensure proper implementation and retraining as required.
  • Organize and prepare leisure activities to keep individuals engaged during non-therapy times.
  • Participate in clinical meetings as assigned, contributing to discussions on access reviews, team meetings, and progress evaluations.
  • Provide up-to-date residential status reports on participants, identifying challenges and following through with solutions based on clinical recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher that includes an internship component for graduation.
  • Preferred experience in a related field.
  • RBT Credential is preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification as required.
