Job Description

The Stamford Hospital is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver patient care in our Maternity Unit.

About the Role:

  • Provide supervision of non-RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on assigned unit.
  • Supervise unit activities when assigned to charge or clinical coordinator role.
  • Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients with accuracy based on age and physical requirements.
  • Maintain competencies to care for patients undergoing mastectomy and other breast procedures.
  • Perform newborn assessment, metabolic screening, and hearing screening.
  • Recognize symptoms of maternal hemorrhage and implement interventions to stabilize the patient.
  • Promote an optimal breastfeeding experience for patients.

Requirements:

  • Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of 1 year professional nursing experience preferred.
  • BSN strongly preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
  • Previous experience in maternal child health highly preferred.

Schedule: Full Time Night Shift (7PM-8AM)

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum depending on experience
