Introduction
As a key member of the Division of State Patrol's Program and Policy Unit, the Regional Grants Specialist plays a vital role in overseeing grant management and program development. This position is focused on analyzing critical data and identifying issues that contribute to the formulation of local initiatives aimed at mitigating traffic incidents and injuries.

Position Overview
The Grants Specialist is responsible for evaluating local data, organizational trends, and relevant policies to effectively plan, develop, monitor, and assess traffic safety programs within a designated region.

This role also involves:

  • Staying informed about local eligibility criteria and federal funding regulations, as well as the diverse components of the federal/state Highway Safety Plan.
  • Providing expert guidance to governmental entities, industry stakeholders, and community organizations to create educational and training initiatives for various community segments.
  • Representing the Bureau of Transportation Safety in local discussions regarding behavioral highway safety initiatives.
  • Engaging with law enforcement and the public to disseminate accurate technical information on traffic safety priorities.

Compensation
This position offers a competitive hourly wage, along with an attractive benefits package. A probationary period is required for new hires.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Experience in utilizing analytical techniques for policy evaluation and program assessment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Experience in monitoring program effectiveness and compliance.

Additionally, well-qualified candidates should have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in strategic planning.
  • Experience in drafting corrective action plans for compliance.
  • Experience or training in adult education.
