Introduction
As a key member of the Division of State Patrol's Program and Policy Unit, the Regional Grants Specialist plays a vital role in professional grant oversight and program development. This position is responsible for analyzing data and identifying issues that contribute to the creation of local initiatives aimed at minimizing traffic accidents and related injuries.

This role supports a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work once training is completed.

Position Overview
The Grants Specialist is tasked with evaluating local data, issues, and policies to effectively plan, develop, monitor, and assess traffic safety programs within a designated area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of local eligibility criteria and federal funding guidelines.
  • Provide expert guidance to governmental bodies, industry stakeholders, and community organizations in the development of educational and training initiatives.
  • Act as a representative for the Bureau of Transportation Safety, addressing local concerns related to behavioral highway safety programs.
  • Engage with law enforcement and the public to disseminate accurate technical information on traffic safety priorities.

Compensation
This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $25.00 to $31.50, along with an excellent benefits package. A probationary period is required for all new hires.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Experience in analytical techniques such as statistics, survey research, and program evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Experience in monitoring program outcomes and compliance.

Additionally, a well-qualified candidate will have one or more of the following:

  • Experience in strategic planning.
  • Experience in drafting corrective action plans.
  • Experience or training in adult education.
