Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include:

  • Executing maintenance tasks with minimal supervision, focusing on reducing equipment downtime and maximizing production efficiency.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues with mechanical and electrical systems. This includes disassembling equipment to replace faulty components.
  • Utilizing shop tools such as drill presses, grinders, and welders to fabricate or repair machinery parts.
  • Installing and modifying electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as required.
  • Enhancing the reliability and operational uptime of all manufacturing equipment through proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Operating forklifts and aerial lifts when necessary.
  • Researching and procuring necessary supplies and tools to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records of parts through effective use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Updating maintenance logs, manuals, and other essential documentation.
  • Adhering to the company's vision and safety protocols while performing all duties.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and organization within the maintenance department.
  • Carrying out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and CMMS.
  • Experience with a variety of tools, including hand tools and power equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including motors, compressors, and troubleshooting AC/DC drives.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Manual dexterity to operate various tools and machinery safely.
  • Experience in industrial electrical systems, including PLC troubleshooting, is highly desirable.
  • Background in plastics processing is a plus.
Experience Requirements

Minimum of 5 years in industrial maintenance or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that meets the requirements.

Certifications

Relevant craft certifications or technical education are advantageous.
