Developmental Concepts, Inc. is seeking dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialists to provide vital support to children with medical and behavioral needs in community and school settings.

The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Studies Field and demonstrates a genuine passion for working with these children.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each individual assigned to your caseload, including their health needs, service plans, and unique challenges.
  • Implement tailored intervention strategies to address the specific needs of each participant. This includes fostering adaptive skills and managing maladaptive behaviors within various environments such as homes, schools, and community settings.
  • Maintain open communication with families, physicians, and relevant officials regarding therapeutic interventions and progress updates for each individual on your caseload.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of weekly paperwork related to your assigned caseload.
  • Consistently document service requirements and collect data on a daily basis to track progress and inform intervention strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current interventions and adapt them as needed based on each individual's evolving needs and skill level.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
  • Complete all required annual training programs as outlined in Developmental Concepts, Inc.'s Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Option 1: Master's-level certification or credential in an Evidence-Based Model approved by the Department (e.g., BCBA or Early Start Denver Model).
  • Option 2: Doctoral or Master's degree in psychology, education, or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • OR
  • Doctoral or Master's degree and a minimum of 1,500 hours of relevant coursework or training in child development, learning theory, positive behavior support techniques, dual diagnosis, psychology, education, or behavioral analysis.
  • AND
  • A minimum of 1,200 hours of experience implementing comprehensive behavioral therapies for individuals with functional or behavioral needs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history background check.
  • CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and car insurance.
