About the Role

Benchmark Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a member of our Mobile Response Team, you will play a critical role in providing crisis stabilization services, support, and referrals to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete crisis assessments, including the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS), and other clinical documentation as required.
  • Respond to crisis calls within an average of 60 minutes for urban locations and 90 minutes for rural locations.
  • Assess the safety of individuals and others in crisis.
  • Develop crisis safety plans and facilitate linkages to appropriate levels of care.
  • Follow up with individuals' ongoing providers to ensure adherence to recommended support and services.
  • Facilitate referrals quickly to prevent escalation of crisis.
  • Ensure customer service satisfaction surveys are given to individuals contacted by the Mobile Crisis Team.
  • Complete necessary documentation to meet regulatory requirements and facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources.
  • Provide crisis follow-up services within 72 hours of crisis disposition for individuals served.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification and ongoing training in crisis intervention curriculum.
  • Two years of post-bachelors professional experience or a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited institution plus three years of full-time equivalent professional experience in the mental health field.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental illness, emotional disorders, and substance-related disorders who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crisis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of experience working with individuals with mental illness and substance-related disorders who are experiencing emotional or behavioral crisis.
  • Knowledge of community services and resources relevant to social determinants of health.
