Job SummaryThe Behavioral Intervention Specialist will work closely with our team to provide individualized support and interventions to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of individuals' health and medical needs, as well as their service plans.
- Develop and implement adaptive skills and interventions to meet the needs of participants, addressing maladaptive behaviors as needed.
- Collaborate with participants' families, physicians, and other officials to ensure effective therapeutic interventions.
- Review and verify weekly paperwork for assigned caseloads, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collect and document service requirements daily, evaluating progress and implementing new interventions as necessary.
- Understand and implement rules set forth by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
- Complete annual training requirements, as determined by DCI's Policies and Procedures.
- Must take a 40-hour RBT course provided by DCI upon employment.
- Must have a bachelor's degree in a human services field or within 24 units of graduating with a relevant bachelor's degree.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
- Must provide or obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and car insurance.
