The American Heart Association is seeking a dedicated Vice President of National Healthy Living Programs. This role offers the flexibility of remote work within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

This position is accountable for the formulation and leadership of the Healthy Living strategy, overseeing a substantial portfolio of mission-driven healthy living initiatives.

It involves the creation of a comprehensive, organization-wide strategic framework aimed at enhancing the American Heart Association's influence through its Healthy Living programs and offerings.

Additionally, this role requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to design and evaluate programs that drive health impact, awareness, engagement, recruitment, and retention.

Key duties include:

  • Developing and directing the execution of a strategic plan and objectives for Healthy Living initiatives.
  • Establishing performance metrics to assess the success of operational plans.
  • Managing a team of skilled professionals who operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive program execution.
  • Overseeing budgetary and resource allocation for effective program implementation.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for national partners and representing the organization on healthy living matters.
  • Providing senior leadership with insights for resource development and project prioritization.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess an MBA, MPH, or a Master of Science in Nutrition or a related discipline.

Experience requirements include:
  • 12 to 16 years in developing business models and operational strategies.
  • 10 years in managing subject matter experts and operations teams.
  • 10 years in program development, planning, and management.
  • 8 years in public health or non-profit sectors.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in fundraising for targeted initiatives.
  • Master's Degree in Public Health.
  • Experience collaborating with national-level executive volunteers and boards.
