Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Histotechnician, you will play a critical role in preparing pathology and cytology specimens for pathologist and cytotechnologist interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and prepare pathology and cytology specimens according to CLIA guidelines
  • Perform routine and special staining procedures, IHC and ISH, Mohs and routine frozen sections as required
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely specimen processing
Requirements
  • Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited Histotechnician program or equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry, and one year of full-time experience in a histopathology laboratory
  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry, and one year of full-time experience in a histopathology laboratory
  • ASCP Certification as Histotechnician (HT)
Work Environment

This is an evening rotation position with occasional weekends. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
