Job Summary

Essentia Health seeks a skilled Histotechnician to join our team. As a Histotechnician, you will play a critical role in processing and preparing pathology and cytology specimens for pathologist and cytotechnologist interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and prepare pathology and cytology specimens according to CLIA guidelines.
  • Perform routine and special staining procedures, including IHC and ISH, Mohs, and routine frozen sections.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Education Qualifications

We require a graduate of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program or successful completion of 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry, and one year of full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.

Work Environment

This position is located at Building B - St Marys Medical Center and requires a Day/Eve Rotation schedule.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $29.23 - $42.98 per hour.
