Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Histotechnician, you will play a critical role in preparing pathology and cytology specimens for pathologist and cytotechnologist interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and prepare pathology and cytology specimens according to CLIA guidelines
  • Perform routine and special staining procedures, IHC and ISH, Mohs and routine frozen sections as required
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with pathologists and cytotechnologists to ensure accurate and timely specimen preparation
Requirements
  • Graduate of NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program
  • OR successful completion of 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry, AND one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory in the U.S., Canada or an accredited laboratory within the last 5 years
  • OR associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry, AND 1 year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory in the U.S., Canada or an accredited laboratory within the last 5 years
  • ASCP Certification as Histotechnician (HT)
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a Day/Eve Rotation schedule. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment and will be required to work occasional weekends.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a $42.98 hourly wage and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.
