We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Histotechnician, you will play a critical role in preparing pathology and cytology specimens for pathologist and cytotechnologist interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Process and prepare pathology and cytology specimens according to CLIA guidelines
- Perform routine and special staining procedures, IHC and ISH, Mohs and routine frozen sections as required
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with pathologists and cytotechnologists to ensure accurate and timely specimen preparation
- Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited Histotechnician program
- OR successful completion of 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry, and one year full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory
- OR an associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry, and 1 year full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory
- ASCP Certification as Histotechnician (HT)
This is a full-time position with a Day/Eve Rotation schedule. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and will be required to work occasional weekends.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a $42.98 hourly wage and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.
