Position Overview:

This pivotal role as a National Sales Director involves overseeing a team of Regional, National, and Senior National Account Managers within Abbott Diabetes Care's consumer product line, which features the revolutionary FreeStyle Libre Continuous Glucose Monitoring System. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within designated national and regional accounts.
  • Expanding the existing customer base through strategic relationship management.
  • Assessing customer requirements and formulating tailored strategies to drive engagement and commitment.
  • Implementing training and in-service initiatives to enhance product knowledge and usage.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Enhance sales and profitability within the DME Channel by managing the activities of Sales Managers.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members to elevate their leadership capabilities and surpass sales targets.
  • Provide strategic insights and tactical recommendations to the marketing team.
  • Oversee the execution of divisional sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor team performance and allocate resources effectively to meet objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and ethical standards.
  • Manage a team of up to 7 direct reports, including National Account Managers.
  • Drive adherence to sales goals while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Foster partnerships with providers to ensure nationwide product availability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify strategic alliances, develop contracts, and forecast demand.
  • Evaluate the business implications of contracting opportunities, focusing on profitability and sales impact.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a managerial role overseeing large teams.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales management.
  • 2 years of experience as a Marketing Director; cross-channel sales experience is highly desirable.
