Program Overview

The Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) Program manages 12 residential homes for adults diagnosed with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. The IRA program is characterized by a People-Centered Approach, empowering individuals to make primary decisions regarding their lives and treatment. Our residents engage in various activities, including outings, sports, household chores, work, and leisure.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Residential Manager, the Residential Support Coordinator will be tasked with overseeing the operations of the co-ed community residence. Responsibilities include:
  • Supervising Direct Support Professionals
  • Leading case management and coordinating services for residents
  • Facilitating resident orientation and participating in service plan development
  • Providing informal counseling to residents as needed
  • Ensuring safety and maintenance of the house, vehicles, and grounds
  • Performing administrative duties, including maintaining resident and case records
  • Responding to emergencies and unforeseen situations
  • Being available on an on-call basis for consultation and support
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid NYS Driver's License
Preferred:
  • BA/BS Degree
  • Prior experience in the field
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills
