Job Overview

Rush University Medical Center seeks an experienced and highly skilled Administrative Assistant to provide advanced support in managing the operational activities of the Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to department management and staff, coordinating department-specific programs or meetings, and assisting with budgetary issues. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for composing business documents, designing reports, and creating correspondence. Other key responsibilities include planning employee and departmental special events, writing and editing content for departmental communication, and providing instruction to departmental staff on computer applications.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a high school diploma and at least three years of progressive experience in an administrative role, preferably in healthcare. Advanced software skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, scheduling/calendar software are also required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to analyze data, prioritize multiple initiatives, produce accurate documents and reports, and interact effectively with internal and external customers are essential qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

The successful candidate must be able to move throughout the Medical Center and lift or carry objects weighing up to 35-40 pounds.
