Purpose Statement

As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the precise development, maintenance, and financial reporting of manufacturing costs for the division, which encompasses two distinct processing facilities, in alignment with financial standards.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes

  • Establish direct and indirect standard costs by product for materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
  • Conduct necessary system maintenance to introduce new raw material items and finished products.
  • Examine PPV reports and investigate purchases to guarantee accurate PPV reporting.
  • Revise standard material costs on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Generate timely and relevant cost variance reports and provide recommendations or take action as required.
  • Collaborate with operational management to enhance controls, accuracy, and quality of manufacturing costs while addressing significant variances.
  • Analyze and report on inventory variances for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Prepare precise cost estimates for new and/or existing products upon request.
  • Engage in the monthly fiscal accounting closing process - prepare and enter journal entries and prepare and distribute operational statements.
  • Contribute valuable cost analysis related to the annual budgeting process.
  • Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit lead schedules and the annual audit package.
  • Collaborate with the plant team to manage capital expenditures within budget.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with GAAP and ethical standards associated with confidential and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Prior experience with SAP financial software is advantageous
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Windows and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the provided rate or range is a reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may vary based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$78, $106,861.30
