Role Overview
If you are a Government Accountant, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This position is responsible for integrating a wide range of government contracting requirements into our business processes. Your main duty will be to ensure compliance with financial reporting, disclosures, and other government contract accounting functions. This role encompasses significant government accounting responsibilities across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the processes for capturing, recording, and summarizing financial transactions adhere to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Prepare and maintain the Company's Disclosure Statement(s) and support audits related to these statements.
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and negotiation of Forward Pricing Rate Agreements and annual incurred cost submissions to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Monitor direct and indirect rates, identifying changes that necessitate supplemental disclosures and negotiations with government agencies.
- Act as the primary finance liaison with government organizations, including the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), regarding forward rates, disclosure statements, and other inquiries.
- Prepare and coordinate responses to DCAA audits and system reviews.
- Provide compliance oversight for applicable DFARS business systems.
- Offer project controls support for specific contracted programs.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of accounting and financial experience, including progressively complex assignments.
- Experience working with DCAA/DCMA auditors is preferred.
- Experience leading financial projects of varying complexity is preferred.
- Background in the aerospace and defense industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) is required.
- Advanced credentials such as an MBA or CPA are a plus.
