Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and service of complex security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and IP intercom systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning: Oversee and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer expectations and manufacturer specifications, including field coordination and communication, system programming, commissioning, AHJ testing, and training on new system installations.
  • Service and Troubleshooting: Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing, as well as troubleshoot potential field wiring problems, and provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost-effective method in restoring a specific system back to normal condition.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Manage assigned Electronic Systems service requests in regards to field labor hours estimated, and provide excellent customer satisfaction through coordination, response to customer requests and problems, and clear communication skills.
  • Reporting and Administration: Prepare reports on daily activities, and complete timesheets, mileage reporting, and monthly vehicle reports in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience with installation and service of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems, with knowledge of IP-based systems required.
  • Education: Minimum high school/trade school graduate, military, or two-year Associate degree in a technical field involving electronics and/or computer-based systems.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of electricity and electronics, ability to troubleshoot systems and perform necessary repairs, security experience with access control systems as well as CCTV systems required, ability to effectively work independently, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certifications: CCURE 9000 certification preferred but other certifications acceptable.
