Job Summary

The Senior Collections Representative is responsible for managing the billing and collections process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of accounts. This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage billing and collections process, including gathering and securing information needed for billing and payment
  • Resolve claim rejections and maintain deficiency lists to obtain missing documents
  • Package claims, including global billing with attachments of professional fee claims
  • Perform proactive follow-up with payers, grants, and other entities to secure payment of accounts
  • Utilize multiple databases and applications to analyze and take appropriate action on information or documents received
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Six or more years of experience working in a hospital billing office environment
  • Excellent knowledge of hospital billing and collections, including skillset for billing and collections of packaged claims, stop losses, per diems, carve outs, and other contract terms and conditions
  • Understanding of Professional Fees, CPT, ICD, DRG, and HCPC codes
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite in our Emeryville office with the possibility of working remote from time to time
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical terminology experience
  • ICD, CPT4, HCPCS, DRG coding experience
  • Understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations
