Job Description

This role involves developing new customer accounts through cold calls, working potential customer lists, and contacting subcontractors in the area. You will negotiate pricing levels to encourage business, maintain positive relations with current customers, and collect past due accounts payable.

 

Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Develop new customer accounts through cold calls, working potential customer lists, and contacting subcontractors in the area.
  • Pricing Negotiation: Negotiate pricing levels to encourage business.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain positive relations with current customers and obtain and record current information on customers.
  • Account Management: Collect past due accounts payable up to 60 days out.
  • Sales Support: Accurately estimate materials needed and add-on merchandise.
  • Product Recommendations: Recommend adjustments to current product line and pricing to remain competitive.

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to four years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of building materials products (especially commodities) and lumber.
  • Computer skills.
