Position Overview:
The Information Technology Risk Leader plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's IT risk strategy and framework, enhancing existing capabilities, and overseeing daily operations. This position is crucial for driving ongoing enhancements to risk management practices and controls, ensuring that information technology and cybersecurity risks are effectively identified and mitigated. The Information Technology Risk Leader will report directly to the Vice President of IT Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the IT risk management function, ensuring alignment with the organizational operating model and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.

Continuously refine the IT risk management roadmap, prioritizing the most critical risks.

Enhance the capabilities of the IT Risk department through the following initiatives:
  • Establish and maintain a robust IT control environment.
  • Create and document IT policies and procedures to comply with data security, audit, regulatory, and compliance standards.
  • Develop tools (GRC) to manage the IT Risk Register more effectively.
  • Facilitate regular IT risk assessment discussions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Support the IT Key Risk Indicator Dashboard utilizing data from stakeholders.
  • Prepare materials for the IT Risk Steering Committee and lead quarterly meetings.
  • Coordinate IT risk management activities with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team.
  • Assist in the review and enhancement of policies and procedures.
Manage requests and remediation efforts related to internal and external audits, including IT SOX compliance.

Support corporate initiatives regarding regulatory compliance and information security.

Proactively identify emerging risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

Oversee aspects of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) policy, ensuring integration with the Project Management Office (PMO).

Deliver exceptional service to all internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 6-10 years of experience in IT risk management and/or IT Audit/SOX roles.
  • Preferred certifications include CISO, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CPA, CIA, and Data Privacy.
  • Experience in financial institutions and/or Big Four firms is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance regulations (e.g., NY DFS, CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset, comfortable working in a multifaceted environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant enterprise risk and security frameworks, including NIST, COBIT, ISO, CSA, ITIL, and SCF.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a comprehensive understanding of the technology risk landscape.
  • Proven track record of effective teamwork and collaboration across organizational boundaries.
