We are looking for a passionate and skilled secondary social studies educator to enhance our academic team at Novel Prep. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of social sciences and will be capable of instructing a variety of subjects such as World History, U.S. History, AP U.S. History, Government, AP Government, Economics, AP Economics, Psychology, AP Psychology, and related disciplines. This role requires a dedication to creating an inclusive and stimulating educational atmosphere that encourages critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and effective communication among students.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and deliver compelling lessons that meet curriculum standards and objectives for the assigned social science classes.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, collaboration, and respect for diverse viewpoints.
  • Address the varied learning needs and abilities of students, including those with special requirements and English language learners, utilizing diverse instructional strategies.
  • Evaluate student performance through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to facilitate academic development.
  • Employ effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and organized learning environment conducive to student achievement.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to create interdisciplinary units, exchange best practices, and align instructional strategies across different grade levels and subjects.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress, expectations, and opportunities for enrichment or support.
  • Stay informed about advancements in social science education, including innovative teaching methods, educational technologies, and pertinent research.
  • Engage in professional development activities, attend faculty meetings, and participate in school events.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Science, Education, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification/license in secondary Social Science (preferred).
  • A minimum of two years of recent teaching experience at the high school level, demonstrating effectiveness in social science instruction.
  • Proficiency in various teaching methodologies, assessment strategies, and educational technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, with the capacity to create supportive learning environments for all students.
  • A genuine passion for social science and education, with the aim of inspiring and empowering students to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace new challenges and opportunities for professional growth.
