About the Role

AdeIphi Medical Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a correctional facility setting. As a key member of our mental health team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to inmates/wards under the guidance of senior psychologists, supervisors, or supervising psychiatric social workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mental Health Assessments: Conduct thorough mental health assessments, considering criminal, psychological, and substance history, to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Crisis Intervention: Engage with mentally ill patient-inmates/youths for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews, including conducting clinical interviews at cell fronts in inmate housing units.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Thoroughly document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTTs) meetings, and prepare written reports as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, institutional health care personnel, and other divisions within the department on complex cases.
  • Patient Education and Support: Provide medical social functions as needed, particularly in CTC (Correctional Treatment Center) settings, and assist patient-inmates/youths in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services.
  • Transition and Release: Facilitate patient-inmates/youths' transition between various settings within the institution and perform pre-release functions, including patient education and facilitating transition to county mental health and community mental health treatment programs.
Requirements
  • Valid California LCSW License: Possess a valid and active California LCSW license.
  • Experience and Certification: Have at least 12 consecutive months of performing similar services within the last 3 years and hold BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (with AED).
  • Language Proficiency: Be proficient in the English Language (Speaking/Writing).
