Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced high school history and political science educator to join our team at Novel Prep. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in history and political science, with the ability to teach a range of courses including United States History, World History, and Government and Politics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and objectives.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student participation and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Assess student learning through various forms of formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and share best practices.
  • Stay updated on developments in history and political science education, including new teaching methods and educational technologies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, Education, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certificate/license in secondary History or Political Science.
  • At least two years of teaching experience at the high school level, demonstrating effectiveness in teaching history and political science.
  • Familiarity with various teaching strategies, assessment techniques, and educational technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, with the ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environments.
  • Passion for history, political science, education, and the teaching profession.
