Front Desk Representative

Marriott Courtyard Springfield is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to support the front desk department.
Potential Career Path- Front Desk Manager
- Director of Operations
- General Manager
- Assist guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all Front Desk standards of service and hospitality.
- Promptly and effectively deal with guest complaints and requests.
- Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner.
- Post guest charges, compute guest bill and collect payment.
- Handle guest mail/packages by making sure it is communicated to guest they receive their items.
- Be very knowledgeable of Marriott Rewards program and promotions.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, surrounding area.
- Block rooms and handle special requests.
- Monitor room availability.
- Handle safe deposits by guests per established procedures.
- Keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable.
- Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures.
- Offer and properly handle requests for wake up calls.
- Know how to clean guest rooms to standards.
- Open and close shift and making cash drops.
- Ensure all credit cards and cash are balanced throughout each shift.
- Communicate with incoming staff and management by logging pertinent information.
- Keep maintenance informed of all maintenance needs.
- Must wear proper uniform at all times.
- Be able to move luggage or packages weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Employee must have reliable transportation and able to work weekends and holidays.
- Perform other duties requested per management.
- Previous hotel experience is preferred.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office.
Work schedule varies and includes working on holidays, weekends. Required to stand for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, type.
